Kristine Dava
Soulful, Deep, Funk, Jazz, Latin, Afro and the tribal sound of the underground are some of the blends you’ll encounter during any of Kristine Dava’s deejay sets. She began to develop her unique sound in early 2004 when she encountered an opportunity to play music on a vinyl turntable setup. It was a natural connection, and Kristine was addicted from the very first moment. She quickly caught on to the technical and creative aspects, drawing from a childhood filled with her father’s jazz records, and rhythm and blues that her mother played at home.
These past 14 years has been busy for her, spending every free moment stamping her signature sound across dance floors all over California and beyond. Bringing her notoriously driving rhythms, diverse blends of house and a flawless technical ability to every set, Kristine’s passion for music is evident in her connection with the crowd and in her infectious smile. There’s no question that above anything else, she’s having a blast, and the labor of love has paid off. She’s secured residencies & gigs at staple venue’s & parties local to the San Francisco Bay Area, including: Sol House, Sunday Bliss, Cardiff Lounge, Brix 581, Temple, The EndUp, Mezzanine, Kelly’s Mission Rock, Infusion Lounge, 3411 Lounge, Somar, and of course, the grassroots house music festival, SoulCamp. In 2017, Kristine also had the honor to play at the legendary international house music event Mi Casa Holiday in Playa Del Carmen / Tulum and at Souleil in San Diego.
Currently you’ll find Kristine playing various gigs around the Bay Area including her residency, Sunday Bliss, Oakland's popular monthly day party, every first Sunday. Since relocating to the Caribbean in 2017, you can also catch her sharing her favorite tunes in the Tulum & Playa Del Carmen area, and at the 10 Year Anniversary Mi Casa Holiday event in October 2018, along side her favorite DJ/Producers AtJazz, Karizma, and Julius the Mad Thinker. Omar Johnson
A Bay Area favorite and Detroit native Omar Johnson is rapidly taking the House Music scene by storm with his soulful trendsetting mixes. Mr. "O.J. All Day" has been featured alongside some of Bay Area's premier DJ's since 2009. His influences can be traced back to his Detroit roots. Growing up in a family full of music lovers and musicians, he developed a love of sounds from 70's ,80's, and 90's Soul and R& B music, that has continued to fuel his soulful creative style. As an early teen listening and studying the styles of artist / producers like Kerri Chandler, Frankie Knuckles, David Mancuso, Nicky Siano and many others provided him with a solid foundation to develop his energy- driven mixing style. Originally producing House music with a Roland TR-808 and Juno 106, Johnson soon began dabbling in Hip-Hop production, producing tracks for his San Diego based crew Noo Noo Groove. He has now focus his attention solely on House music, you can catch an O.J. set at either of Oakland's favorite House parties, Sunday Bliss and Groove Shack.
DJ Dedan
Dedan Anderson first got exposed to the creativity and energy of the underground dance music scene while growing up and clubbing in New York City during the mid 80’s. His musicality was formed by the DJ’s in the eclectic New York underground nightlife scene such as: Tony Humphries, Timmy Regisford, Frankie Knuckles, Larry Levan, Duke of Denmark, Frankie Feliciano, Louie Vega, Jellybean Benitez to name a few.
Originally a dancer, Dedan helped flesh out the bay area music landscape as a DJ after he arrived in Berkeley in the late 80’s by sharing the sound that he had been brought up with back east. He has had the good fortune of being a part of several succesful nightlife ventures: “the Beehive” at the Birdkage, with Dj Iz, where they spun an eclectic mixture of hip hop, soul, dancehall, house and classics; “what if?” at Zanzibar, with Dj Toks, where Dancehall met soul and house; and culminating with “Brothers & Sisters” at Luka’s and Vibe Lounge, with Dj Daniela, successfully introducing soulful dance music and house to the east bay.
Through his DJing he hopes to help expose more of the world to the amazing depth, awe and soul of the music and the dance.
